SkyEx Shipping Label App Dubai (the “App”) provides shipping-label creation, Air Way Bill (AWB) generation and Shopify order-fulfilment services (the “Service”) to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores.

The App allows merchants to send eligible Shopify orders to SkyEx Courier, generate AWB numbers and shipping labels, download labels in bulk, update order fulfilment and send fulfilment notifications without manually re-entering order information in the SkyEx system.

This Privacy Policy describes how M A Q Computer Services LLC (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and retains personal information when a merchant installs or uses the App in connection with a Shopify-supported store.

For personal information contained in a merchant’s Shopify store, the merchant generally determines why and how the information is processed. We process that information on the merchant’s behalf to provide the Service.

Personal information the App collects

When you install or use the App, we are able to access certain information from your Shopify account. The precise information accessed depends on the actions you take and the permissions granted to the App.

Merchant, staff and store information

We may access the store owner’s name, email address, phone number and physical address, together with store and location information required to identify the shipment origin and operate the App.

Order and fulfilment information

The App may view and update assigned fulfilments, merchant-managed fulfilments and third-party fulfilments, and may access Shopify order history for the previous 60 days. Depending on the order, this can include order numbers, products, quantities, shipping details, order notes and fulfilment status.

Customer and recipient information

To create and manage a shipment, the App may access customer or delivery-recipient names, email addresses, phone numbers and physical delivery addresses. Shopify may also make device and activity data available, including geolocation, IP address, browser information and operating-system information.

Information provided directly to the App

We may collect information that a merchant enters or submits directly, such as the SkyEx Courier user token used to connect a courier account, shipment instructions and information included in a support request. We may also collect the name, business contact details and communications of people who contact us about the App.

Cookies

Cookies are data files placed on a device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. Log files

Log files track actions occurring in the App and may collect data such as an IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring or exit pages, access times and error or diagnostic information.

Web beacons, tags and pixels

Where used, web beacons, tags and pixels are electronic files that help us understand how the App is accessed and used. We do not use customer order information for behavioural advertising.

How we use your personal information

We use personal information from merchants and their customers only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain and improve the Service. This includes using information to:

• Authenticate and connect a merchant’s Shopify store and SkyEx Courier account;
• Display eligible orders and allow merchants to select orders for shipment;
• Send shipment and delivery-recipient information to SkyEx Courier;
• Generate AWB numbers and shipping labels;
• Download shipping labels individually or in bulk;
• Update Shopify order fulfilment and send fulfilment notifications;
• Provide technical support and communicate about the App;
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot errors, prevent fraud and protect the security of the App;
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights; and
• Provide merchants with information about our products or services where permitted by law.

Sharing your personal information

We disclose personal information only when reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to the following recipients:

• SkyEx Courier: We share the order, recipient, delivery and shipment information required to book and manage shipments and generate AWBs and labels through skyexpressinternational.com.
• Shopify: The App operates through Shopify and uses Shopify APIs. Shopify processes information in accordance with its own terms and privacy practices.
• Service providers: We may use carefully selected hosting, infrastructure, security, communications and technical-support providers that process information on our behalf and under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
• Professional advisers and business transfers: We may disclose information to professional advisers or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
• Legal and safety purposes: We may disclose information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request, prevent fraud or abuse, or otherwise protect our rights and the rights and safety of others.

We do not sell customer order information.

Behavioural advertising

The App does not use customer order, delivery-recipient or shipment information to provide behavioural or targeted advertising. We may communicate directly with merchants about the App or related services where permitted by law. Merchants can opt out of non-essential marketing communications by using the unsubscribe option in the message or by contacting us.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask that it be corrected, updated, restricted, transferred or deleted. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

If you are a customer of a merchant using the App, the merchant is generally responsible for responding to requests relating to information in its Shopify store. You should first contact the merchant from whom you placed the order. We will assist the merchant with a verified request as required by applicable law.

If you are a merchant, store representative or other individual who has provided information directly to us, you may submit a request using the contact details below. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

European residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process information to perform our contract with the merchant, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate business interests described in this policy, or with consent where required.

Information may be processed in the United Arab Emirates and in other countries where Shopify, SkyEx Courier or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

Data retention

The App may access Shopify order history for the previous 60 days as permitted by its Shopify access permissions. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain shipment and support records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and comply with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

When a merchant uninstalls the App or submits a verified deletion request, we will delete or anonymise personal information that is no longer required for these purposes, subject to any retention required or permitted by law. Data retained in backups is removed through our normal backup-rotation process.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The App is intended for use by Shopify merchants and authorised business users. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the App.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our data practices, or operational, legal or regulatory requirements. We will update the “Last updated” date when changes are made and provide additional notice where required.
